Island Publisher
Privacy Policy
Effective September 22, 2026
Island Publisher is a private tool that uploads finished videos from one personal computer to one YouTube channel. It has exactly one user, the owner of that channel. It is not offered to the public, it has no sign up, and it collects no information from anybody else.
Island Publisher uses YouTube API Services. By using it you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's own handling of your information is covered by the Google Privacy Policy.
Who uses this tool
One person: Jared Smith, the owner of the JaredOnAnIsland YouTube channel. There are no other users, no accounts, no invitations, and no way for a member of the public to sign in. Nobody else's information ever enters the tool, because nobody else ever uses it.
What information the tool touches
When the operator signs in with Google, the tool asks for permission to upload videos to his own channel and to set the details of the videos it uploads. With that permission it handles only:
- A Google OAuth access token and refresh token issued to the operator's own Google account.
- The video file chosen on the operator's computer, plus the title, description, tags, category, thumbnail, playlist and privacy setting typed for that video.
- The YouTube video ID and upload status that YouTube returns for the videos this tool itself created.
The tool does not read viewer information, subscriber lists, comments, messages, contacts, location, or any other person's YouTube data. It does not search or collect other people's videos or channels.
Where that information is stored
Everything stays on the operator's own computer. The OAuth refresh token and the client credentials are written to a local file on that machine, inside the operator's own Windows user profile, and they never leave it. Video files, thumbnails and metadata are local files that go directly to YouTube over Google's own API and nowhere else.
There is no server, no database, no cloud storage, no backup service and no log shipped anywhere. The tool has no website, no hosted component and no shared infrastructure.
Who the information is shared with
Nobody. The only network destination the tool contacts is Google, to complete the sign in and to perform the upload the operator asked for. No information is sold, rented, traded, syndicated, published, or passed to any third party, advertiser, analytics provider, model trainer or data broker.
Island Publisher's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Advertising, cookies and device information
Island Publisher is a local program with no web interface. It shows no advertising, hosts no third party content, sets no cookies, uses no trackers or pixels, and collects no device identifiers, no browsing history and no location.
This website, jaredonanisland.com, is separate from the tool. It uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page visits without cookies and without building a profile of any visitor.
How long anything is kept
The stored OAuth token is kept only for as long as the operator wants the tool to work, so that he does not have to sign in again for every upload. Deleting the local credentials file removes it immediately. Video files and metadata stay on the computer under the operator's normal file management, and the published videos live on the YouTube channel under YouTube's own terms.
How to revoke access
The operator can withdraw the tool's permission at any time from the Google security settings page at https://security.google.com/settings/security/permissions. Revoking there makes any stored token useless straight away. Deleting the local credentials file has the same practical effect on the computer itself.
Children
Island Publisher is not directed at children and is not usable by anyone other than the channel owner, who is an adult.
Changes to this policy
If the tool ever changes what it touches, this page is updated and the effective date at the top changes with it. Because there is only one user, any change is known to that user on the day it happens.
Questions or complaints
Privacy questions, complaints and requests about Island Publisher go to [email protected] and are answered by the operator directly.
