Island Publisher

Terms of Use

Effective September 22, 2026

Island Publisher is a private tool that uploads finished videos from one personal computer to one YouTube channel. These terms cover that tool. It is not a product, it is not sold, and it is not available to the public.

Island Publisher uses YouTube API Services. By using Island Publisher you are agreeing to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Google's handling of your information is described in the Google Privacy Policy.

Who may use it

Only Jared Smith, the owner of the JaredOnAnIsland YouTube channel, and only with his own Google account. There is no registration, no public download, no hosted version and no second user. Nobody else is granted a licence to run it.

What the tool does

What the tool does not do

Privacy

What the tool touches and where it is stored is set out in the Island Publisher Privacy Policy. In short, an OAuth refresh token is kept in a local file on one computer, and nothing is sent anywhere except to Google to perform the upload the operator asked for.

Island Publisher's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Google and YouTube trademarks

YouTube and Google are trademarks of Google LLC. Island Publisher is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by YouTube or Google, and the tool name does not claim any such association.

Content responsibility

The operator is responsible for every video he publishes through the tool, exactly as he would be if he uploaded it by hand at youtube.com. All YouTube Community Guidelines, copyright rules and monetization policies apply in the normal way.

No warranty

The tool is provided as is, with no warranty of any kind. It can fail, an upload can be interrupted, and YouTube can change its API at any time. The operator accepts that risk as the only user.

Ending access

The operator can revoke the tool's permission at any time from the Google security settings page at https://security.google.com/settings/security/permissions, which stops it working immediately.

Changes to these terms

If the tool changes, this page is updated and the effective date at the top changes with it.
